National Broadband Ireland Sligo Update : High-Speed Connectivity for Homes, Farms, and Businesses
We are excited to announce significant progress in the rollout of high-speed fibre broadband in partnership with National Broadband Ireland (NBI) as part of the Government’s National Broadband Plan. Over 6,000 premises across Sligo can now order high-speed broadband, with more than 1,800 already connected.
With a total investment of €59 million, 15,000 homes, farms, schools, and businesses in Co. Sligo will receive minimum speeds of 500 Mbps by the end of the project. This investment marks the largest infrastructure project in rural Ireland since rural electrification.
Current Rollout Progress of National Broadband Ireland in Sligo
6,000 premises can now order high-speed broadband.
Over 4,700 premises are currently under construction near Gurteen and Dromore West.
By the end of 2025, 75% of premises in Sligo will be able to order fibre broadband.
